Birdie was adopted into the Lemke family in 2018 by Josh and his wife Pooja. She joined her cat sisters, Watson and Mrs. Hudson, who welcomed her (eventually) with open arms.
The family continued to grow as, one by one, three human girls were added to the mix, bringing the household up to Josh and seven girls. While Birdie and the kitties are the stars of the show, the little girls are the true inspiration behind all of these books. Birdie, with her love of adventure and meeting new people and dogs, lent herself to be a great subject.
However, none of the messages shared in these pages would be possible without the author's family and support system. From his parents, who instilled a passion for creativity and focus on family, to his five older siblings, who have always been there for him, he grew up in an uplifting environment. Now more than ever, he is thankful for his greatest supporter, his beautiful and encouraging wife, Pooja.
Birdie is a perfect fit in her crazy, loving, wild, and goofy family, and she hopes to be a fit in yours as well!
